New CUPRA Born World Premiere

CUPRA is actively challenging the status quo with the world premiere of the new CUPRA Born. Designed and developed in the heart of Barcelona, this first all-electric icon represents a radical shift—one where raw performance is amplified by a refined, human-centric philosophy.

Under the mark of the Copper Knot, the new CUPRA Born embodies a progressive spirit. Reminiscent of a warrior’s mask and ancient tribal arrows, this symmetrical emblem perfectly mirrors the car’s duality: the instinct to conquer the road and the style to redefine the city.

A Design Language That Speaks to the Tribe

The first thing you notice is the attitude. The exterior design radiates pure emotion through every line and detail, aligning with the daring spirit of the brand’s latest DNA. A distinctive shark-nose defines the front end, flowing into the three-triangle Matrix LED headlights that create a unique light ceremony even before the driver enters the vehicle.

At the rear, the identity is reinforced by an integrated and illuminated CUPRA logo nestled into the 3D rear lights, creating a sophisticated silhouette that remains recognisable even in the dark.

The car’s assertive stance is further enhanced by a reimagined rear diffuser and a choice of new 19’’ and 20’’ alloy wheels paired with wider 235mm tires for improved road adherence. The introduction of Timanfaya Grey adds a new layer of metallic intensity to the exterior palette.

The Cockpit: Where Sustainability Meets Digital Immersion

Inside the cabin, the Born undergoes a digital revolution focused on creating a deep connection between the driver and the machine.

The newly perceived quality is evident in the redesigned front and rear door panels, providing a sculptural, welcoming feel. The centerpiece is a massive 12.9” infotainment system powered by a new Android-based operating system, complemented by an augmented reality head‑up display and a new larger 10.25” digital cockpit.

In a move that prioritises precision and responsiveness, the steering wheel has been redesigned with physical controls and satellite buttons to select driving modes.

CUPRA proves that performance and environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusive.

The standard bucket seats are upholstered in 100% SEAQUAL® Yarn derived from upcycled marine plastics. For those seeking further refinement, the electric bucket seats are finished in 100% Dinamica® with 73% recycled polyester, while the exclusive CUPBucket seats combine the best of both worlds: a central section in SEAQUAL® Yarn framed by Dinamica® bolsters. Even the dashboard mouldings reflect this commitment, featuring a 3D parametric design built with 75% recycled material.

Raw Power: The VZ Factor

For those who demand "CUPRA at its fullest," the VZ (Veloz) trim is the new benchmark, headlining a full powertrain line-up that includes 140kW and 170kW motor configurations.

The 240kW electric motor delivers 545Nm of instant torque, propelling the Born VZ from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.6 seconds. To achieve a true "go-kart feeling," the Born integrates Launch Control with a new One-Pedal Driving system and sharper progressive steering.

Despite this increased power, it maintains a benchmark electric range of around 600 kilometres, supported by regenerative paddle shifts and CUPBucket seats that position the driver closer to the car's center of gravity.

Every journey is amplified by a new interior sound signature that reacts to throttle input, heightening the thrill of electric driving without ever becoming intrusive. These technologies, combined with the Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC Sport), ensure that electrification and performance are a perfect match.

Digital Immersion, Human Connection

In the new Born, technology serves the driver, creating a seamless flow between your digital life and the open road. This is evident in the 10-speaker system integrated with Sennheiser’s Contrabass technology that produces deep, punchy low-end frequencies.

Versatility takes a step forward with the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, which allows the car to act as a portable energy source for external devices like laptops or e-bikes. Additionally, the Mobile Device Key ensures that the ownership experience remains uncomplicated, allowing you to unlock and start the vehicle via your smartphone.

Safety Re-engineered

Safety remains at the core of the CUPRA philosophy, using intelligent protection to support the driver.

Travel Assist 3.0 now integrates cloud-based data to recognise traffic lights and pedestrian crossings, while the upgraded Precrash system with rear detection prepares the cabin for impact to ensure further protection.

The refined Front Assist system provides multi-stage warnings—visual, acoustic, and tactile—before initiating automatic braking if a risk is detected. This layered approach ensures the driver remains in control as the vehicle remains ready to intervene.

Coming Summer 2026

Production of the new CUPRA Born begins in the second quarter of 2026, with the market launch scheduled for the summer. Since its launch in 2018, the brand has sold over 1 million vehicles globally by defying expectations and challenging conventions.

This evolution represents a conviction designed for the CUPRA Tribe—a community that pushes back against boundaries to elevate emotion on and off the road.
